How to design “skinny” and work smart!
When I go to Starbucks, which I do a lot especially when I’m traveling (thanks to my Starbucks app), I usually order a Skinny Vanilla Latte. They’re only 120 calories and I like the fact that I can enjoy the taste without adding anything to my waistline.
Enjoy something that tastes great and not get fat! That’s a perfect recipe in my book.
Anyhow…. while enjoying my Skinny Vanilla Latte’ recently, I was pondering (yes, pondering) about the business side of interior design (I know it’s hard to imagine how my mind went from latte’s to running a business, but read on and you’ll see – I am always imaging everything somehow being related to business). I was thinking that for most of the interior designers I know it’s harder for them to find any task on the business side of their daily office routine that they enjoy as much as I was enjoying my Skinny Vanilla Latte.
When it comes to the business side of design, let’s face it, most of us take a deep “I can do this” breath before tackling the piles of paperwork we’ve put off for a day or, if we’re in the habit of putting off the office unpleasantness longer, a week or even a month.
If we’re really being honest, most of us would love to shave about 2000 “calories” off of the business side of design!
